Job summary

Locums First in Bodmin is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants to provide flexible clinical support across local primary care services. You will join diverse teams on sessions suited to HCAs with strong patient-facing skills and confidence in delivering routine clinical tasks.

You will perform routine observations, assist in treatment room duties, conduct ECGs and basic health checks, and support clinicians with general duties. DBS is required and full guidance is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous HCA experience in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills desirable
• Ability to perform clinical observations confidently
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Adaptability across different primary care environments
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Performing routine patient observations such as BP, pulse and temperature
• Supporting treatment room procedures under clinical supervision
• Conducting ECGs and basic health checks
• Assisting with phlebotomy if trained
• Providing lifestyle advice and basic patient education
• Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Supporting clinicians with general duties where needed
