Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GMC-registered GP to work in a Newbury practice on a flexible, session-based basis. The role offers a structured daily workflow and strong administrative support to ensure efficient session delivery.

You will manage a varied caseload, conduct high-quality patient assessments and provide continuity where needed, with ongoing bookings and potential long-term arrangements.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered General Practitioner required.
• Active inclusion on NHS Performers List.
• Recent UK primary care experience.
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems.
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics.
• Managing acute presentations and complex cases.
• Providing telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow.
• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries.
• Prescribing safely and appropriately.
• Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system.
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks.
