Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced administrative professional to support the Knee Service within elective orthopaedics. You will coordinate patient pathways, manage waiting lists, and assist theatre scheduling to improve patient flow and timely access to treatment.

The role focuses on efficient, compassionate patient care, with opportunities to contribute to innovative outpatient care models across our region.

Qualifications

• Previous administrative experience preferred.
• Experience with patient pathways, RTT management, and EPIC would be advantageous.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support managers and coordinators in delivering an efficient, professional administrative service.
• Arrange and coordinate outpatient, inpatient and day-case appointments.
• Handle administrative tasks and enquiries promptly, following procedures and escalating issues when necessary.
• Complete general administrative duties and help make effective use of available team capacity.
• Set up or amend clinics and coordinate room availability.
• Maintain information security and confidentiality.
• Provide compassionate customer care to patients and relatives, including distressed individuals.
• Support and provide cover for colleagues, manage telephone calls and resolve straightforward enquiries from patients, carers and visitors.
