Job summary

Compass Community seeks Bank Support Worker for children’s homes to support safeguarding, daily care activities and relationship-building with young people. You will join a dedicated team that values compassion and consistency.

The role welcomes those with or without prior experience and includes comprehensive induction, ongoing training and professional supervision to help you grow in a caring career.

Qualifications

• Must be 22 years or older to meet Ofsted regulations.
• Caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships.
• Has a valid manual driving licence.
• Able to remain calm in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with children and young people in care, putting them at the centre of everything you do and safeguarding them.
• Engage with a variety of children and young people, some needing high levels of supervision.
• Support care activities, hobbies and education with the team showing patience and empathy.
• Create timetables, set boundaries and maintain consistency for the children.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Is 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
• Is caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.

Previous experience is not essential for this role. You will receive a comprehensive induction and ongoing training.

What will I do as Bank Support Worker?

• You will work closely with children and young people in care, putting them at the centre of everything you do. You will create positive relationships with them, meeting their needs and always safeguarding them.
• You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
• Using your experience and skills (further developed with our support and training), you will assist with the care of our children and young people, supporting them in all aspects of their lives including activities, hobbies and educational pursuits.
• Consistency and organisation skills are key: you will create timetables and set boundaries and expectations for the children.
