Job summary

Compass Community is recruiting for a Bank Support Worker to help children in our care. You will work with young people, building trusting relationships and supporting daily activities, education and development within a safe environment.

No prior experience is required, as we provide a comprehensive induction, ongoing training and strong supervision. A driving licence is required for this role; sleep-in shifts are paid at £60 each, with flexible patterns to fit your needs.

Qualifications

• Is 22 years of age or above to meet Ofsted regulations.
• Is caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.
• Has a valid manual driving licence.
• Can remain calm in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with children in care, building positive relationships and safeguarding.
• Meet a variety of children and young people, some requiring higher supervision.
• Assist with care of children and young people, supporting activities, hobbies and education.
• Create timetables and set boundaries and expectations for the children.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Is 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).

Previous experience is not essential for this role. You will receive a comprehensive induction and ongoing training.

What will I do as Bank Support Worker?

• You will work closely with children and young people in care, putting them at the centre of everything you do. You will create positive relationships with them, meeting their needs and always safeguarding them.
• You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
• Using your experience and skills (further developed with our support and training), you will assist with the care of our children and young people, supporting them in all aspects of their lives including activities, hobbies and educational pursuits.
• Consistency and organisation skills are key: you will create timetables and set boundaries and expectations for the children.
