Job summary

Derbyshire County Council’s Highways Training Centre is seeking a dedicated Highways Training Officer to develop and deliver Street Works and Highways training across Derbyshire sites. You will support the Highways Operations service by creating high-quality course content and helping learners achieve nationally recognised qualifications.

You’ll deliver training, assess learners, keep records up to date, and contribute to internal and external audits.

Qualifications

• Experience in training and assessment.
• Experience of working within a highways or engineering service environment.
• Chapter 8 Traffic Management qualifications.
• Knowledge of safety practices for underground cables.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality professional training in line with the training plan.
• Teach practical and theory Street Works and Highways sessions.
• Maintain accurate training records and support audits.
• Plan and prepare courses, teaching materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with current legislation and service aims.
