Dovetail Recruitment Ltd in Verwood is seeking an ACA/ACCA Practice Accountant to join a well-established Chartered Accountancy Practice. The role offers flexibility around hours and a permanent, full-time position for the right candidate.

You will prepare accounts, work from client records, and liaise with clients while receiving training and support from a Practice Principal. A friendly team and local opportunity enhance work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Previous UK accountancy practice experience.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Experience working with owner-managed businesses and SME clients.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Ability to manage workload independently.
• Good technical accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses and SME clients.
• Producing accounts from client bookkeeping records and accounting information.
• Posting journals and processing year-end adjustments.
• Preparing and maintaining electronic working papers.
• Using Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
• Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Discussing accounts with clients and assisting with sign-off.
• Supporting corporation tax work and computations where required.
• Assisting with general accounts and compliance work across the client portfolio.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure client deadlines are met.
