Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GMC-registered General Practitioner to cover a GP practice in Whitby. You will handle routine and urgent clinics, with strong clinical decision-making and clear patient communication in a supportive, well-structured primary care setting.

Sessions can be ad-hoc or regular weekly, with full-day or half-day availability, and there is potential for ongoing bookings or long-term arrangements.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered General Practitioner
• Active inclusion on the NHS Performers List
• Recent UK primary care experience
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or similar systems
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics
• Managing acute presentations and complex cases
• Providing telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow
• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries
• Prescribing safely and appropriately
• Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks
