Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a General Practice Nurse to support GP clinics in Welshpool and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible sessional work, with opportunities for ad-hoc or regular bookings, focused on routine nursing duties and clinical operations support.

The ideal candidate is an NMC-registered General Practice Nurse with strong treatment room skills, good communication with patients, and the ability to adapt quickly to new practice environments. DBS clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with primary care experience
• Strong treatment room competency is required
• Good communication and patient interaction skills are essential

Responsibilities

• Providing routine nursing support across GP clinic settings
• Conducting wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Administering routine immunisations and vaccinations (if trained)
• Completing smear tests if cytology-trained
• Supporting chronic disease management and care plan activity
• Undertaking NHS Health Checks where required
• Documenting clinical information accurately in digital systems
