Job summary

Academics is recruiting for general cover supervisors to supervise secondary classes in Rhondda Cynon Taf. This role starts on 5 October 2026 and offers a flexible, supportive working environment with the potential to gain experience for future education roles.

The daily rate ranges from £110 to £140, with straightforward registration and local work options. You'll be responsible for creating a safe learning space, managing set-work across KS3- KS5, and providing feedback to teachers while

Qualifications

• Valid DBS (Can be produced through us).
• Registered with the Educational Workforce Council (EWC).
• Has/currently undertaking a university degree.
• Previous experience working with young people (e.g., coaching, teaching assistant, youth work).
• Confident.

Responsibilities

• Create a supportive learning environment where pupils stay on task and complete set-work
• Collect completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
• Produce feedback to the class teacher by outlining positive/negative behaviours, achievements, and any concerning issues
• Upholding school policies and procedures related to child protection, health and confidentiality
• Through interaction, establish trust with pupils by tailoring to individual needs
