Job summary

Principal Education is recruiting Cover Supervisors for secondary schools in Slough and surrounding areas. You will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering pre-prepared materials and supporting students across a range of subjects.

This flexible daily supply role offers ongoing opportunities and a chance to become a positive classroom role model. Ideal candidates have experience working with young people, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people (youth workers, coaches, mentors)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
• Flexibility, reliability and adaptability to various classroom settings

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring safety and engagement
• Deliver pre-prepared materials or activities provided by teaching staff
• Support students with behavioural and learning needs to promote inclusion
• Act as a positive role model and promote respect and teamwork in the classroom
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and behaviour incidents
• Communicate with teaching staff and leadership about issues or successes during cover lessons
