The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Cleaning Operative at Royal High Primary School in Edinburgh. This fixed-term role runs until 31 December 2026 and offers a pro-rata salary of £26,205 to £26,525 for part-time hours (10 per week, 40 weeks per year).

The role is part-time with flexible morning, evening or daytime shifts to suit, and includes training and progression opportunities. You will join the Facilities Management team delivering cleaning services to ensure safe and clean

Responsibilities

• Empty litter and recycling bins
• Clean surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures
• Clean sanitary areas, toilets and showers; replenish consumables
• Perform emergency and reactive cleaning (graffiti, spillages)
• Care and cleanliness of cleaning equipment
• Support cleaning tasks across other buildings when required
• Meet cleaning specification and cooperate with performance measures
