Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Cleaning Operative for East Craigs Primary. You will join our Facilities Management team to provide a reliable cleaning service across our estate, ensuring buildings are safe, clean and suitable for work or learning.

The role offers permanent positions, flexible hours and above-market terms, helping you balance family, care, or study commitments. Key duties include emptying bins, cleaning surfaces and sanitary areas, and responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• PVG scheme required or PVG update check
• Ability to work flexible hours across a mix of shifts

Responsibilities

• To empty litter and recycling bins.
• Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings.
• Clean all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenish washroom consumables.
• Carry out emergency and reactive cleaning as required (graffiti removal, spillages).
• Care for cleaning equipment and assist with other related cleaning tasks.
