Job summary

Berkeley Scott in Stevenage is seeking a Chef Manager for flexible agency work across schools and hospitality settings in the Stevenage area. You will lead kitchen teams, oversee food preparation and maintain high standards while adapting to variety across sites.

The role requires at least 2 years in a Chef Manager or similar role, strong leadership, and excellent organisational skills. DBS certificate and UK work rights are expected; driving licence is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Chef Manager or similar kitchen management role.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Experience working within schools or contract catering is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day running of busy kitchens.
• Lead, motivate and support kitchen teams.
• Plan and deliver high-quality, nutritious meals.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Manage stock, ordering and waste minimisation.
