Job summary

Berkeley-Scott is seeking a Chef Manager for flexible agency work in Loughton, starting September. You will manage daily kitchen operations across schools and contract catering, lead kitchen teams, and ensure high standards of food quality and safety.

You will coordinate shifts, maintain hygiene and allergen controls, manage stock and waste, and ensure efficient service across a range of sites in and around Loughton.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a chef manager or in a similar kitchen management role.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Experience working within schools or contract catering is desirable.
• Two satisfactory references.
• Enhanced DBS certificate.
• The right to work in the UK.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, but is not essential.

This role involves managing daily kitchen operations across school and hospitality settings. You will lead kitchen teams, oversee food preparation, and ensure quality standards are met. Strong leadership and organisational skills are essential for coordinating shifts, maintaining hygiene regulations, and controlling stock.
