Job summary

Aramark UK is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join our team at Bexhill College in East Sussex on a Zero Hours Contract. The role offers flexible hours to fit around your lifestyle and involves serving food, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting kitchen duties.

You will work as part of a busy catering operation, helping to create a welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors, with training and development opportunities and potential career progression within Aramark.

Qualifications

• Positive, enthusiastic, customer-focused approach.
• Experience in catering, hospitality, retail, or customer service is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliability and flexibility to work shifts as required.
• Willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serving food and beverages in a friendly and professional manner.
• Providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
• Assisting with food preparation and basic kitchen duties.
• Supporting the set-up and clear-down of service areas.
• Operating tills and handling transactions accurately.
• Replenishing stock and ensuring displays remain clean and presentable.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout catering areas.
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.
