Job summary

Turning Point is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs across England. You will provide hands-on care, promote independence, and support daily activities in a person-centred way within Sheldon Ridge Nursing Home.

The role involves a 24-hour service with shifts including weekends and nights, plus training and development opportunities after probation. A supportive team environment and opportunities to advance are offered.

Qualifications

• Essential: caring and empathetic approach to supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Flexible, patient and non-judgemental with good communication skills.
• Enjoys working in a team and with energy to support residents' independence.

Responsibilities

• Promoting the independence of people we support.
• Supporting daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or holidays.
• Arranging activities in the home and local community.
• Developing residents' life skills and personal interests.
• Helping residents stay safe and healthy.
• Assisting with personal care needs.
• Manual handling where needed.
• Supporting people with medication and record keeping.
