Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is recruiting a Building Surveyor in Southampton to join a growing, collaborative team. You’ll work across Defence, Blue Light, Education and Housing projects with project values from £10k to £3m, enjoying genuine flexibility and a culture that supports development.

You’ll undertake surveys, prepare documentation, provide professional advice and manage regional schemes, while developing client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or an RICS-accredited degree.
• Solid practical experience in a building surveying environment.
• Strong knowledge of building pathology, inspections and defects.
• Experience producing technical reports, specifications, feasibility studies, asset reviews and drawings.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and statutory compliance.
• Strong communication and client management skills.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability.

Responsibilities

• Undertake building surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
• Prepare schedules, specifications, reports, drawings and other technical documentation.
• Provide professional advice across a varied project portfolio.
• Manage regional schemes from inception through to completion.
• Work with JCT and NEC contracts and support senior colleagues.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.
• Ensure projects meet quality, health & safety and environmental standards.
