Job summary

Vale of Evesham School is seeking a Bank Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4 to 18 with various needs. The role offers flexible hours, usually between 9am and 3pm, and involves assisting with daily routines, personal care, meals, outdoor play and classroom tasks.

You will work with pupils who have moderate, severe or profound learning difficulties, building confidence and promoting inclusion while covering other TAs as needed. DBS checks required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school, residential or similar setting supporting young people or adults.
• Passion for supporting children and young people with special educational needs.
• Understanding of the varied needs of children as they develop socially and academically.
• Energy and enthusiasm.
• Working well in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in small classes with daily routines, including meal times and outdoor play.
• Provide personal care for pupils who need it.
• Support pupils with workboxes, play and classroom work.
• Build rapport with pupils and give positive reinforcement to build confidence and self-esteem.
• Cover Teaching Assistants who are off sick or on training.
• Support pupils with autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities or communication barriers.
