Job summary

Engage Education is recruiting Bank Staff Complex Needs Support Workers to work across SEND schools in Leeds. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs, helping them engage with learning and daily activities while promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex needs.
• Experience in a school, care, or educational setting is beneficial.
• A positive, patient and flexible approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Good behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• Reliability and a willingness to support schools when required.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support to pupils with complex needs.
• Supporting pupils within small groups or classroom settings.
• Helping pupils to engage with learning and daily activities.
• Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Working alongside teachers and other support staff.
• Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Following individual support plans, school policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Providing cover for planned and unplanned staff absences, sometimes at short notice.
