Spire Alexandra Hospital in Chatham, Kent is looking for an experienced Chef to join our friendly Bank team on zero hours, with flexible shifts and a rewarding healthcare environment. You will prepare nutritious meals to a high standard, support food preparation, portioning, stock rotation and cleanliness, while delivering excellent patient and staff service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in a busy catering environment.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook freshly made meals to a high standard.
• Assist with vegetable preparation and ingredient handling.
• Serve food and beverages to patients, staff, consultants and visitors.
• Support catering services in both the restaurant and ward areas as required.
• Manage stock rotation, date checks and ensure food is stored safely.
• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
