Job summary

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust is seeking Bank Catering Assistants for Ludlow Community Hospital. You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain high food hygiene standards, and support the smooth running of the catering service. Bank working allows flexible hours to suit availability.

The role includes handling cash, training new staff, and ensuring delivery and stock processes are followed. Prior experience is helpful, and basic Food Hygiene certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Food Hygiene level 2 certificate or willingness to work towards within 12 months.
• Ability to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure good quality control during food preparation, cooking and despatch with documentation per safe food system.
• Serve meals and handle cash for dining room till when required.
• Maintain high hygiene standards across the catering department and personal hygiene.
