Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking a Bank Catering Assistant to support the hospital's catering service for patients and staff. The role involves preparing beverages, snacks, salads and hot meals, with responsibilities including cleaning and porter tasks as needed. Training will be provided, and shifts may include evenings and weekends.

Welsh language support is available, and applicants may be Welsh speakers or willing to learn. This is a bank position and sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering industry and safe working practices.
• Basic literacy and numeracy and induction training requirements.
• Willingness to undertake training to achieve Level 2 NVQ in catering.

Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages, snacks, salads, sandwiches, buffets and hot meals for patients and staff.
• Support the catering operation and related duties such as cleaning or porter tasks.
• Work as part of a rota including evenings and weekends.

Skills

Experience in catering industry

Level 2 food safety

Education

Literacy and Numeracy L1

Level 2 NVQ in catering or equivalent

Level 2 in numeracy and literacy or equivalent

CIEH Level 2 or equivalent food safety qualification
