Job summary

Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking a Technical Officer AI in Manufacturing to join the PrintCity-based team. You will support AI-driven product development and manufacturing research, maintain complex equipment, and train users across research, teaching, and industry partnerships.

The role requires hands-on operation of CAD tools, 3D printing and scanning workflows, and programming experience with Python, PHP and MySQL, plus API development.

Qualifications

• Experience operating lab/workshop equipment safely to a high standard.
• Experience with CAD, 3D printing, 3D scanning software.
• Proficient in Python, PHP and MySQL and API development.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support AI project development and testing in manufacturing contexts.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and service specialist equipment.
• Train users in equipment and software usage.
• Collaborate with project teams to validate AI solutions across partners.
