Job summary

Manchester Metropolitan University invites applications for a Technical Officer AI in Manufacturing based at the PrintCity facilities. The role supports AI-driven product development and manufacturing within research, teaching and industry collaborations.

You will operate and maintain lab equipment, work with CAD, 3D printing and 3D scanning tools, and develop APIs using Python, PHP and MySQL. You will train users and help test AI solutions with the project team.

Qualifications

• Proficient in lab/workshop safety and equipment operation.
• Ability to apply AI for 3D scanning and data processing.
• Experience programming in Python, PHP and MySQL; API development (RESTful/GraphQL).
• Strong communication and ability to train others and work with project teams.
