Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Functional Skills Maths Tutor in St Helens to deliver targeted 1:1 tuition, helping learners achieve Functional Skills qualifications and to develop greater confidence with Maths. Sessions are tailored to each learner's needs and progress.

Hours are 5-15 per week, starting September 2026, with ongoing work. To be eligible you must have the right to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS (or willingness to process a new application) and provide two

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths.
• Strong knowledge of numeracy and Maths.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience.
• A flexible and encouraging teaching style.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 tuition to learners.
• Tailor sessions around each learner's needs and progress.
• Help learners develop confidence and progress in Functional Skills Maths.
