Job summary

Tyrefix UK Limited seeks an experienced Workshop Manager to run the Ibstock fleet workshop, directing day‑to‑day operations for vans and an HGV group. You’ll lead a mechanics team, plan servicing, control parts and stock, and ensure safety and compliance while coordinating with the Transport Manager and Fleet Administrator.

The role combines hands‑on leadership with administration, stock control and workshop optimisation, with a clear path for ongoing training and fleet system improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a workshop team with fleet responsibility.
• Strong planning for servicing, repairs, MOTs and breakdown work.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in motor vehicle subjects is desirable.
• Experience using fleet or workshop software for maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day workshop operations and prioritise work.
• Plan servicing, repairs, MOTs and breakdown tasks across van and HGV fleets.
• Lead and develop the workshop team, allocate jobs and monitor workloads.
• Oversee van kit-outs, de-kits and vehicle preparation including racking and tools.
• Manage parts, stock, consumables and PPE; control costs and spend.
• Build supplier relationships, obtain quotes, place orders and check deliveries.
• Handle workshop administration, invoices, service schedules and records.
• Collaborate with Transport Manager and Fleet Administrator to maintain DVSA/compliance.
