Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Assistant Workshop Manager to support leadership and performance of our Fleet Workshop. You will help deliver safe, compliant, cost-effective maintenance while ensuring high vehicle availability.

Working with the Workshop Manager, you will lead a busy operation, drive continuous improvement and develop people, building strong relationships with operational stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle maintenance or fleet operations.
• Knowledge of vehicle compliance and transport legislation.
• Strong leadership and performance management skills.
• Full UK driving licence (C+E desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a safe and compliant workshop operation, ensuring adherence to legal and Royal Mail safety standards.
• Drive workshop performance through effective resource planning, maintenance scheduling and cost management.
• Lead, coach and develop workshop colleagues to improve capability, engagement and performance.
• Ensure optimum vehicle availability to support operational requirements across the network.
• Build effective relationships with operational stakeholders and act as a key point of contact for fleet-related issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain quality standards within the workshop environment.
