Job description

About HIVED

At HIVED, we’re steamrolling forward as one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups, and our momentum shows no signs of slowing.

Based in London, we are a climate and logistics start-up building the first sustainable parcel delivery network at scale, powered by a 100% electric fleet. In an ever-growing industry where unreliable service has long been the norm, HIVED has been built from the ground up to meet the demands of modern consumers, disrupt parcel delivery, and provide an outstanding customer experience.

Already trusted by leading international brands such as Zara, Uniqlo, ASOS, Nespresso, and more, we are solidifying our position as the leaders in Europe to tackle this growing market.

Our tight-knit team is made up of ex-Revolut, Bain, HelloFresh, ASOS, Apple, and Google employees, and we are backed by some of Europe’s leading investors and VCs in climate-tech, logistics, and mobility including Planet A Ventures, Maersk Growth, Pale Blue Dot VC, Eka Ventures, and the British government. We’re passionate about driving innovation and redefining the future of delivery.

Role Overview

As HIVED continues to scale, we are seeking a Fleet Technician to ensure the smooth operation and longevity of our 100% electric fleet. This role is crucial in maintaining high operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and keeping our fleet running at peak performance. You will play a key role in diagnosing, repairing, and optimising our electric delivery vehicles, contributing directly to our mission of building a sustainable and reliable parcel delivery network.

Please note that this is a shift work role based at our Woolwich depot, operating Monday through Sunday

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HIVED’s fleet of electric delivery vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues in EVs, using diagnostic tools.
  • Occasionally provide roadside assistance, performing roadside repairs and vehicle recovery to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Conduct battery system inspections, ensuring efficiency, longevity, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Work closely with our Operations teams to schedule vehicle maintenance, minimising downtime.
  • Maintain detailed service records and report on vehicle performance, defects, and repair history.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in electric vehicle technology and implement best practices in fleet maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment in our depot.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and manufacturers for parts, warranty claims, and technical support when required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a vehicle technician, ideally with hands-on experience in electric vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of electric powertrains, battery management systems, and EV diagnostics.
  • Relevant qualifications in automotive engineering, electric vehicle maintenance, or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to vehicle upkeep.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software used for EV maintenance.
  • A commitment to sustainability and passion for working with cutting-edge vehicle technology.
  • Full UK driving license (essential).

Benefits

  • Dynamic working environment with a diverse and driven team.
  • Huge opportunity for learning in a high-growth environment, with progression opportunities based on success in the role.
  • 25 days of holiday allowance plus public holidays.
  • Subsidised Private Medical Insurance including dental and vision.
  • Weekly team lunch and regular company socials.
  • MacBook Air or Windows Laptop (depending on your preference).
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption policy.
