Job summary

Flannery Plant Hire is seeking a Service Manager to lead the maintenance and servicing of the UK fleet. You will oversee workshop operations, field engineers, and maintenance planning to maximise uptime, safety and compliance.

Collaborate with Operations, Transport, Engineering, Procurement, and Hire Desk teams to drive efficiency, cost control, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading service operations in plant hire or related engineering sectors.
• Proven management of maintenance programmes and schedules.
• Strong planning, organisational and budgeting abilities.
• Effective communication with stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field service operations.
• Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are planned and completed.
• Maximise fleet availability through maintenance planning and resource allocation.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate breakdown response to minimise disruption.
• Ensure servicing and repairs meet manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain service records using fleet management systems.
• Lead and develop service controllers, engineers and technicians.
• Promote safety culture and compliance across operations.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and technical development.
