Job summary

St Neots-based Scheduler role in an Operations team, full-time permanent position within a busy transport operation. Salary £28,000-£30,000 per annum, 40 hours weekly, Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm. Location: St Neots.

You will plan deliveries, routes and driver schedules, monitor driver availability, liaise with drivers and customers, and optimise routes to improve fleet efficiency while ensuring compliance with UK transport regulations.

Qualifications

• Scheduling experience, ideally within transport, logistics or distribution.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of UK transport regulations and driver hours legislation.
• Geographical knowledge and IT proficiency (MS Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily deliveries, routes and driver schedules.
• Monitor vehicle and driver availability and delays.
• Liaise with drivers, customers and internal teams to keep operations running.
• Optimize routes to maximise fleet efficiency and reduce costs.
• Track deliveries, collections, defects and daily vehicle checks.
• Maintain accurate schedules and operational records.
• Ensure compliance with UK transport regulations and driver hours legislation.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and fleet availability.
• Produce reports for the Transport Manager.
