Job summary

Japanese Food Company in South London is seeking an Operation Coordinator to manage daily route planning for a fleet of around 20 vehicles delivering 200+ orders each day. The role is onsite in South London with hours from 11:00 to 20:00 and a salary up to 32K GBP.

You will support the Operations team with compliance activities, driver debriefs, and handling customer queries, while maintaining accurate records and coordinating with Fish Production and warehouse teams to align transport plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport route planning preferred.
• Good knowledge of UK geography and roads.
• Understanding of HGV/van operations and legislation preferable (OLAT or similar).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Can work cohesively within an existing and growing team.
• Can learn new processes efficiently and follow procedures thoroughly.
• Good phone manner, good interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and adaptable approach.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience of Delivery Routing System such as Paragon is a big advantage.

Responsibilities

• Route planning on a daily and regularly scheduled basis for a fleet of ~20 vehicles delivering 200+ orders per day.
• Optimise route efficiency by analysing destinations, vehicle weights, driver hours, and customer requirements.
• Pay attention to speed limits and achievable schedules.
• Organise alternate delivery arrangements with third-party partners or minicabs.
• Communicate routes to drivers and provide delivery instructions.
• Support the Operations team with compliance activities and driver debriefs.
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation per procedures and audits.
• Collaborate with Fish Production teams and warehouse to align transport and operational plans.
• Interact courteously with colleagues, drivers, customers and partners; carry out reasonable duties as needed.
