Job summary

Whistl North in Astley seeks a Transport Supervisor to support the Assistant Transport Manager in delivering a high-quality, cost-efficient service across our fleet. You will plan vehicle movements, coordinate resources and monitor SLAs while ensuring regulatory compliance.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong operational experience, attention to detail and a proactive mindset. Rotating shifts and occasional travel may be required to support the business.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced transport environment.
• Strong leadership, communication and planning skills.
• Comfortable working independently and making quick decisions.
• Good knowledge of UK driving regulations and tachograph law.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage van and HGV fleet movements daily.
• Monitor on-time collections and deliveries within SLAs.
• Support maintenance of O Licence compliance and vehicle condition.
• Lead and support drivers and transport team, including agencies.
• Handle day-to-day admin, tachograph analysis and paperwork.
• Monitor costs, report KPIs, and drive operational improvements.
• Support change initiatives across transport operations.
• Ensure health, safety, legal compliance and accident investigations.
