Job summary

Whistl North is seeking a Transport Supervisor to join its busy transport team. You will plan daily Van and HGV movements, ensure on-time collections and deliveries, and support regulatory compliance across the fleet.

The role requires leadership, strong planning and communication skills, with experience in a fast-paced transport environment and a full UK driving licence. Rotating shifts and occasional cross-site support are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced transport environment.
• Strong understanding of UK/EU driving regulations & tachograph law.
• Excellent team leadership, communication, and planning skills.
• Comfortable working independently and making quick decisions.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Good local and national geographical knowledge.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage Van & HGV fleet movements daily.
• Monitor and ensure timely collections and deliveries within SLAs.
• Support maintenance of O’Licence compliance and vehicle condition.
• Lead and support the driver and transport team, including agencies.
• Handle day-to-day admin, including tachograph analysis and paperwork.
• Monitor costs, report on KPIs, and contribute to operational improvement.
• Support and implement change initiatives across transport operations.
• Ensure health & safety, legal compliance, and accident investigations.
