Job summary

Whistl North is seeking a Central Planning Co-ordinator to join our Planning & Support team. You will help plan day-to-day collections and deliveries across the van fleet, ensuring efficient routing and on-time performance.

The role involves data management, reporting, stakeholder communication with drivers, depots, and customer service, plus supporting improvement initiatives in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport/logistics planning or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of UK geography and road networks.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing

• Support the planning of collections and deliveries across the network's van fleet.
• Monitor volumes against available capacity and highlight any issues to the Planning team.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, depots, transport teams, and operational colleagues.
• Work closely with Customer Service and Commercial teams to fulfil customer collection requests.
• Maintain and update transport systems, ensuring data accuracy and overall system housekeeping.
• Produce performance reports and distribute information across the wider business.
• Identify opportunities for route improvements and support efficiency initiatives.
• Assist with shared mailbox management, administration, and wider planning activities.

What We're Looking For

• Experience within a transport, logistics, planning, or distribution environment.

We're looking for a Central Planning Co-ordinator to join our Planning & Support team at Whistl North. Working closely with the Planning Supervisor, Network Planning Manager, and Transport Planning team, you'll support the day-to-day planning of collections and deliveries across our network while helping to ensure operational efficiency and excellent service levels.

This is a varied role that combines transport planning support, reporting, administration, system management, and stakeholder communication, making it ideal for someone with experience in a transport or logistics environment who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational setting.
