Job summary

Pertemps Crawley Perms is looking for a Transport Assistant to join its busy transport team in Salfords. The role supports the Transport Manager to keep a fleet of 20+ commercial vehicles compliant, maintained, and operational.

Key duties include coordinating servicing and MOTs, maintaining records, arranging repairs, and assisting with route planning and same-day deliveries. A full UK driving licence is required, and applicants should be 25 or over due to insurance requirements.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
• Must be aged 25 or over due to company vehicle insurance requirements.
• Comfortable driving commercial vehicles.
• Experience using fleet management systems.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management and maintenance of a fleet of 20+ commercial vehicles.
• Monitor vehicle defects and maintenance needs, arrange repairs with approved garages.
• Book routine servicing, MOTs, inspections and maintenance work.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records and upload documentation to the system.
• Ensure fleet compliance documentation is kept up to date.
• Drive company vehicles to garages, MOT appointments and service centres as required.
• Assist with route planning and ad-hoc same-day deliveries when needed.
