An exciting opportunity awaits for a Fleet Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on maintaining and repairing a fleet of CTVs across the UK and Europe. Due to rapid organisational growth, we are recruiting a people-focused, high-calibre talent for an exciting new opportunity with our client.
·The general vessel maintenance, inspection, and repairs – engine types include: Cat C 32, C2.2, C3.3, Nannies genset. Gearboxes include: ZF / Servo gear.
·Fault-finding and repairs of vessel electrical, hydraulic, and heating systems.
·Conducting performance tests, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
·Collaborating with crew members to troubleshoot and train them on vessel maintenance and inspection.
·Travelling and working away from home at multiple sites across the UK and Europe.
·Adopting a flexible approach to work to align with operational necessities, particularly during breakdowns and emergency repairs.
·Demonstrating and maintaining expected QHSE standards whilst working on any of the Company vessels and promoting a positive safety culture.
·Providing input in regard to the planning of and attending annual dockings when on rota.
·Monitoring stock levels in the warehouse and ensuring that the Procurement department are up to date with stock levels; Informing them to make orders as necessary.
·Buying and collecting spares and consumables needed for vessels.
·Sending daily progress reports (DPRs) and reporting all daily activities undertaken to the office.
·Being on call to diagnose and if possible, fix issues as they arise.
·Building and maintaining strong working relationships with local suppliers
Requirements·NVQ Level 3 / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Construction, Systems Engineering or equivalent.
·3-4 years’ experience as a ship engineer or a strong ability to demonstrate service/experience with a shore-based marine mechanical engineering.
·STCW qualifications
·Experience with OS-HSC CTV/craft vessels.
·Willingness to travel overseas as directed by company for vessel visits, inspections, port calls, docking, maintenance assistance, etc.
·Resilient, a team player with a proactive mindset.
·Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
·Flexibility and availability to be ‘on-call’ in case of emergencies.
·Full valid driving licence.
What's on offer -
·Base salary of between £35,000 - £40,000 per annum DOE.

·Working hours 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Mon to Fri) when office-based
·28 days leave allowance inclusive of statutory holidays
