Job summary

Glanville Environmental is seeking a Fleet Mechanic in Plympton to service, maintain and repair a range of commercial vehicles, ensuring safety and compliance. You will use Texa and Bosch diagnostics, record work, and uphold high workmanship standards.

The role requires a NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance, a full UK driving licence, and at least 5 years of relevant experience working with light commercial vehicles such as Ford and Peugeot.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Full UK driving license is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician.
• Experience servicing and repairing light commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding using Texa and Bosch systems.
• Experience with Ford and Peugeot vehicles.
• Proficient with tablets and workshop paperwork.

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of commercial vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and operational at all times. You will use modern diagnostic equipment to identify faults, carry out repairs efficiently, and maintain accurate records of all work completed. You will work on a fleet comprised of: Light Commercial Vehicles, Peugeot Boxers and Ford Transit Vans.

More about the role:

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment, including Texa and Bosch systems.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and identify repair requirements.
• Complete all work in line with manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports and job documentation.
• Ensure vehicles meet all safety and compliance requirements.
• Support workshop efficiency by working independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

Qualifications

Full UK Driving Licence

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Vehicle Technician role

Experience servicing and repairing light commercial vehicles

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience using Texa and/or Bosch systems

Experience working with Ford and Peugeot vehicles

Confident using tablets, mobile devices and computer systems to complete job cards, service records, inspection reports and workshop paperwork accurately

Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
