Job summary

Age UK East Sussex is seeking a Logistics & House Clearance Manager based at our Newhaven Warehouse, with travel across the county, to lead transport planning, house clearance operations and fleet compliance.

You will manage a team of supervisors, drivers and volunteers, handle surveys, quotes and large stock movements, and ensure safe, efficient workflows to support our charity activities and fundraising.

Qualifications

• Experienced logistics professional with fleet scheduling and house clearance logistics.
• Detail-oriented administrator with invoicing, project billing, and inventory audit experience.
• Hands-on compliance champion with knowledge of road transport regulations and safety rules.
• Active and adaptable, willing to travel daily and step in as relief driver when needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage central transport planning to maximise fuel and time efficiency across routes.
• Lead property clearance enquiries, personally conduct surveys, issue quotations, and manage billing.
• Enforce compliance with waste regulations and ensure traceability and proper disposal.
• Direct and support line-managed team, ensuring adherence to site rules and distribution policies.
• Monitor vehicle condition logs, address defects, and maintain fleet paperwork per transport laws.
