Then look no further… Travis Perkins plc is seeking a Fleet Engineer to support our Group nationally.

This role acts as the group's ‘Centre of Expertise’ for operational & technical knowledge, providing oversight and a third line of defence for managing the group's O-licences.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Carrying out regular audits of compliance documentation from maintenance providers via fleet management.
2. Reviewing maintenance tasks to ensure defects are identified promptly.
3. Examining driver defect reports for compliance and addressing electronic vehicle check issues.
4. Conducting targeted monthly audits with fleet management providers to ensure process compliance.
5. Investigating MOT failures and rectifications at stations (PRS).
6. Assisting with major component failures affecting vehicles or equipment.
7. Acting as an escalation point for fleet teams.

Requirements for consideration:

1. Level 3 apprenticeship in Heavy Goods Vehicle maintenance or equivalent fleet experience.
2. Experience in repairs & maintenance of commercial vehicles/plant/equipment.
3. Strong communication skills.
4. Understanding of O-License requirements (training provided).
5. Knowledge of LOLER regulations as they apply to a mixed fleet.
6. Problem-solving skills.

Preferred but not essential:

1. HGV Licence Class 1
2. Lead Auditor certification
3. Operational management experience
4. Knowledge of HGV and LCV build processes
5. Commercial knowledge
6. Lifting equipment experience
