Job summary

Dennis Eagle is seeking an experienced Commercial Vehicle Workshop Manager | Contract Manager to lead a key fleet maintenance contract in Somerset. You will manage the workshop team, ensure vehicle safety and compliance, and drive performance against contract requirements.

This hands-on role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and a focus on continuous improvement, cost control, and quality in a busy, customer-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a commercial vehicle workshop, fleet operation, or service delivery contract.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative capability.
• Collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead workshop-based team to deliver outstanding service.
• Drive vehicle availability, servicing, MOT compliance, and operational performance.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage employee wellbeing, absence, training, and performance.
• Ensure high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
• Monitor costs, work in progress, parts inventory, and contract performance metrics.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
