Job summary

Kirklees College in Huddersfield is seeking a motivated Student Community Development Officer (Fixed Term until 30th June 2027) to plan and deliver a cross-college programme of enrichment and personal development. The role focuses on wellbeing, student voice, and employability, helping to strengthen Student Union activity and belonging across the college.

You will work with young people in education/community settings, designing engaging activities, building relationships with students, staff

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C) required.
• Able to converse at ease with members of the public in accurate spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a vibrant calendar of enrichment, wellbeing, social action, volunteering and personal development activities.
• Work with colleagues and external partners to create inclusive activities accessible to all students, including SEND students.
• Build relationships with students, colleagues and external organisations and motivate participation across a diverse student community.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, pleasant college culture.
