Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a skilled technician to disassemble, test, fault-find and repair safety equipment for slides, rafts, and sub-components in a UK workshop environment.

The role involves reassembling equipment in accordance with official manuals and strict safety standards, in a small team with emphasis on accuracy and compliance. You will work in a multi-site aerospace maintenance operation, with a focus on quality workmanship, timely fault resolution and adherence to health and safety

Qualifications

  • Numerate and literate – GCSE Maths and English.
  • OEM training in maintenance and overhaul of safety equipment (highly desirable).

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE

To disassemble, test, fault find and repair various safety equipment for slides, rafts and their sub-components.To reassemble a variety of safety equipment, slides, rafts and their sub-components in accordance with CMM's / OHM's and OEM packing instructions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • To disassemble, test, fault find and repair various safety equipment for slides, rafts and their sub components.
  • To reassemble a variety of safety equipment, slides, rafts and their sub components in accordance with CMM's / OHM's and OEM packing instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
  • OEM training in maintenance and overhaul of safety equipment (highly desirable)
EXPERIENCE
  • Experience of repairing and packing aircraft safety equipment (highly desirable).
  • Previous experience of working in an engineering/workshop environment (highly desirable)
  • Prior experience working of interpreting and following in detail compliance manuals.
Competencies
  • Working within a small team of skilled fitters, reliability, flexibility and team work are key skill requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships
  • Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and multi task whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal)
  • Positive, enthusiastic, confident and motivated
