Job summary

Supervac Ltd in Rugby is looking for enthusiastic fitter/fabricators to join our production team. You will fabricate and fit chassis mounted frames and components for road tankers, reading engineering drawings and using hand tools to assemble parts.

Ideal candidates will have experience in heavy engineering, strong manual dexterity, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with a Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30 schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience of fitting and fabricating within specialised commercial vehicle or plant machinery manufacturing / heavy engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Resulting from continuing growth within the business, we are looking for enthusiastic and experienced fitter/fabricators to join our expanding team at our Rugby site.

Job Specification

The successful candidates will be working in the main production area, fabricating & fitting chassis mounted frames, components and associated equipment during the manufacture of road tankers. The ideal candidates should have the ability to read technical drawings and use hand tools and other equipment to fabricate and assemble components. The role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient project completion.

Candidate Specification

Essential skills

• Experience of fitting and fabricating within specialised commercial vehicle or plant machinery manufacturing / heavy engineering.
• Fabrication skills marking out, material preparation, & operating various metal working machinery, including cutting equipment, drills and grinders.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications
• Ability to use own initiative & work under pressure
• Excellent hand-eye co-ordination and manual dexterity
• Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced changing environment
• Preferable to have vehicle body building experience.
• It would be an advantage to have a forklift and overhead crane licence.
• Experience in basic welding techniques also advantageous
• Hours of work– Monday to Friday (08:00 – 16:30) – 40 hours per week
