Job summary

GAP Group Limited is seeking a skilled Plant Mechanic to maintain our fleet of diggers, dumpers and hand tools hired out to customers. You will service, maintain and repair equipment at the depot and occasionally on customer sites to keep gear safe and reliable for hire.

As a Plant Mechanic, you'll play a key role in keeping our fleet of diggers, dumpers, and hand tools hire‑ready. You'll carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs—both in the depot and occasionally on customer sites—ensuring our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready to go when our customers need it.

What You'll Be Doing

About You

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with strong technical expertise and a proactive approach, including:

• Proven experience as a plant mechanic/fitter, with a relevant qualification or time‑served background in an industry with transferable skills is welcomed
• Proven experience working in a mechanical role - candidates out with the plant hire industry are welcomed as full training will be provided!
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure
• A customer‑focused approach workload and committed team player
• A full, valid driving licence is preferred but not essential
