Job description

Connect Appointments have a brand-new opportunity for a Fitter to join our established client in Kilmarnock on a permanent basis!

Salary: £41,730 per annum

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am to 4:30pm; Friday, 7:30am to 1:30pm

As a Fitter, you will be responsible for:

1. Overhaul, maintenance, examination and repair of rail vehicles and rolling stock
2. Stripping and building safety critical components in accordance with technical drawings
3. Fault finding and repair on mechanical components - e.g. bogies, brake actuators, axles etc.
4. Door gear removal, overhaul, refit and test
5. Working as part of a team, completing the necessary paperwork and work instructions
