Job summary

Safran is seeking an Assembly Fitter to join our precision manufacturing team. You will assemble complex components, interpret engineering drawings and ensure parts meet exacting standards in a collaborative aerospace environment.

The role emphasises quality, safety and continuous improvement, with opportunities to work across shifts and contribute to process enhancements within Safran Landing Systems.

Qualifications

• Essential: NVQ Level 3 and completion of an advanced apprenticeship.
• Experience in aerospace or automotive mechanical environments.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow specifications.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to work across shifts as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and complete production acceptance testing to tight specifications.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, specifications and test instructions.
• Apply 5S principles and continuous improvement to maintain high standards.
• Perform turning and grinding operations and design or make tooling when needed.
• Ensure compliance with FOD and COSHH requirements throughout all activities.

Starting salary: £40,649 + excellent shift premiums! Shifts: Days, Lates, Nights & Weekends

Shift premiums:

• Bridging shift: 39.75%
• Nights 38.50%
• Weekend Shift (Night) 59.02%
• Weekend Day Shift (Fifth shift) 48.70%

Your role:

Bring your technical skills and precision to a role where quality and craftsmanship matter. You'll work on complex assemblies, interpreting engineering drawings and applying your expertise to deliver components that meet exacting standards. In a collaborative environment, you'll contribute to continuous improvement and help shape the future of aerospace manufacturing.

• Assemble components and complete production acceptance testing to strict specifications

What you'll bring:

• (ESSENTIAL): NVQ Level 3 and completion of an advanced apprenticeship
• Aerospace or Automotive mechanical experience
• Strong understanding of specifications, procedures, and quality standards
• Ability to work flexibly and contribute to improvement initiatives
• Skilled in assembly techniques, with experience in turning and grinding; electrical knowledge is a plus
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
