Job summary

Richmond Village Painswick is seeking a Fitness Instructor to lead activities that promote health and an active lifestyle for residents. The role involves designing and delivering classes, tailoring sessions to the needs and abilities of seniors, and encouraging social engagement within the community.

The position is permanent part-time (6 hours per week) based on site in Gloucestershire. A Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 PT are preferred, with prior coaching experience in spa or fitness

Qualifications

• Level 2 Gym Instructor/Level 3 Personal Trainer with previous experience of instructing multiple classes.
• Experience in spas or the fitness industry is desirable, along with a pool responder qualification.
• Strong customer service, patience and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Promote health and wellness among residents and lead engaging exercise programs.
• Ensure health status awareness before each appointment and keep records updated.
• Provide clear instruction to Wellness Spa users for safe exercise.
• Support membership retention by encouraging participation and a positive atmosphere.
• Develop and promote fitness events and group activities.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• Assisting members in setting and achieving their fitness goals, offering advice and encouragement to each member during their visit
• Ensuring you’re aware of every member’s health status prior to each appointment, ensuring records are updates as necessary
• Ensuring all Wellness Spa users receive sufficient instruction to ensure safe exercise
• Supporting membership retention through actively encouraging member participation and promoting a helpful and fun filled atmosphere to encourage repeat visits
• Informing the Wellness Spa Manager of any relevant issues at all times
• Developing and promoting organised events such as fitness challenges and group activities
• Supporting the Spa Manager to increase visits and revenue, promoting other services in the spa as required

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

Level 2 Gym Instructor/Level 3 Personal Trainer, with previous experience of instructing classes, as this role requires teaching multiple classes on shift. Previous experience in working in spas or the fitness industry along with pool responder qualification is desirable. Great patience and customer service with a proactive attitude will succeed in this role.
