Job summary

Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a wage-based fiscal support staff member for the Business Office. The role handles data processing, review, and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures, and maintains fiscal records and reports in line with DOC and DOA policies.

The position is wage-based, with an hourly limit per agency and a 12-month work period May 1–April 30; workers must adhere to a 20-hour weekly average constraint and receive no state benefits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and to make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately.
• Working knowledge of sound bookkeeping/principles and practices.
• Ability to prepare routine financial reports and statements.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, for office support duties.
• Experience inputting data into an automated database other than Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and staff.
• Ability to interpret and follow prescribed operating instructions and policies.
