Job summary

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a proactive Training Centre Support Technician to help run the training facility, manage equipment and assets, and coordinate materials for firefighter training.

The role combines office duties with practical outdoor work, supporting the delivery of realistic training scenarios while maintaining high safety and quality standards across facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day administration and operations of the Training Centre.
• Coordinate materials, equipment and consumables for training delivery.
• Maintain asset records and schedule inspections and maintenance.
• Load, unload and move training materials using mechanical aids.
• Operate Training Centre vehicles and machinery, including the Manitou telehandler.
• Assist with setup, delivery and safe operation of practical training demonstrations.
• Carry out minor repairs and adaptations to facilities and equipment.
• Ensure training assets remain compliant, safe and fit for purpose.
• Support post-training clean-down and asset maintenance.
